The Village Burying Ground - Circa 1801
Town of Paris, Sauquoit, New York - Oneida County
I pass many small cemeteries on our way to Grandma/Grandpa's house.
The Village Burying Ground is one of many that need attention. Last year a new sign and clearing of the weeds took place. A parking place was also made of crushed stone. Hopefully, more work can be done. So, far a fine job has been done.
The stones are either half or totally fallen and lying on the ground. Many can not be read at all. Your typical older cemetery.
I must say that the location is very pretty. It lays within a small group of trees in the woods just off the main country road. Most of the stone are not clear

One more trip to the cemetery is needed. 2005/I pass by almost every other Sunday and each time that I do go by I recall my trip. The poison ivy and other grass... are against me when it comes to gathering the names of older cemeteries. Be sure that a prayer for the families of this small cemetery is said every other Sunday.jc.
