Jose Collazo Jimenez He was a tall, blonde hair, blue eyes man. His family was financial stable, following the culture, religious and rules of the times. Which supported his position of education, landowner, and one time mayor of Las Piedras. His picture hangs in the city hall along with the father of Puerto Ricos Munoz Rivera and United States President John F. Kennedy. At one time, it seem he was going to be a priest. He was very well like by all who knew him.
His 1st marriage was to Gregoria Colon at the age of 18 / 19. They had six children. Gregoria died while giving birth to a set of twins Fernando and Baldomero.

Carmen Iris Collazo:Born in Puerto Rico, born June 13, 1925 and died April 18,1972 in California.
Parents: At the age of 6, Jose Collazo/Ramona Reyes had alreadypassed away.
Carmen Iris was sent to live with uncle Baldmero and family. The age of 7, Carmen Iris traveled with her sister America to New York.
America married, moving with them to Florida. America, leaving her husband, they moved back to join Felicita (Fifa) in New York.
Later at the age of 12, Carmen Iris joined uncle Jose (Pepito) and traveled to Puerto Rico. and in turn Felicita (Fifa) and Ernest Sr. took Carmen Iris to Michigan. Ist Marriage of Carmen Iris Collazo:
During the Second World War, Carmen Iris met and later married Ralph Crowly. Children: Sandra Ramona Crowly (Nov. 16, 1944) ,
and a son Eric Edward Crowly (February 12, 1948)
Carmen Iris and Ralph Crowly's had marriage broken up. She returned to live with Felicita (Fifa).
America who was living in NY had been sick with Uremia. Carmen Iris and her 6 month old son, Eric Edward, went to New York to care for America. Sandra Ramona stayed with Fifa.
Living in New York, Carmen Iris met and married her second husband William Melendez.
They had children: Estellita Yolanda, and Rose America., William Charles including Eric Edward and Sandra Ramona.
Carmen Iris died in Los Angeles, California in 1972. She had green eyes, light complexion, dark hair. She enjoyed people as people enjoyed her.

Jose remarried. Second with was Maria Rios She was once a beauty queen of San Juan, P.R.. Later, with no children, a legal divorce was granted.
Jose Collazo Jimenez 3rd marriage: Jose married Ramona Reyes Lopez. Jose was 34 yrs. old and Ramona was18 yrs. old.
Ramona Reyes Lopez, Puerto Rican born in 1888 and died 1932 in Puerto Rico. She was tall, dark brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin with few freckles. She was nicknamed "Manchita" all her life.
Ramona's mother had died giving birth to her. Mother's name first name unknown. Lopez was her last name.
Raised By: Her aunt mama Belen and papa Thomas who lived in the country near Las Piedras raised her.
(Ramona's father "Juan Reyes" remarried and they had a son, Macario Reyes).
Juan Reyes never returned to see Ramonahis daughter.
A tutor for the arts of writing and reading educated her.
Ramona Reyes Lopez --Ramona Reyes Lopez marriage was to Jose Collazo Jimenez at the age of 18 yrs.
Together, they had a total of fourteen children. (Including six from Jose Collazo Jimenez' first marriage.
Ramona was carrying their last child and Romona was still nursing her daughter, Delia Maria when her newborn died.
Jose had died during this period (1927). Ramona was carrying their last child, when Jose died.
Jose Collazo Jimenez, my great grandfather died of "double pneumonia" at the age of 55 yrs. He was buried in the city of Juncos, P.R.. 1927.
Ramona Reyes Lopez my great grandmother passed away in a sanitarium of Tuberculosis. in 1932, located in Rio Piedras, P.R. She was only 44 yrs of age when she died.

America#1 COLLAZO was born on 3 Feb 1925 in Las Piedras, Puerto Rico. America #1.. At the age of two, she died falling down stairs 1927. America #2.Collazo Puerto Rican born April 18, 1912 and died June 20, 1950. Looked alot like her mother Ramona. She had brown hair, brown eyes, fair skin complexion. She had graduated from Humacao High School, P.R. America #2 went to Brooklyn, N.Y after her graduation. Her uncle Rafael was living in Brooklyn at that time. While in route to N.Y. America's mother, Ramona Collazo Jemenez died of TB at the age of 44 in 1932. America's 1st marriage was to an Irishman. They moved to Florida, taking the younger sister Carmen-Iris Coolazo with them. Leaving him, America and Carmen Iris moved back to join another sister Felicita Collazo (Fifa) in New York. America met "Victor Manuel Arroyo". Together they had a daughter named Gloria Maria. America and daughter Gloria Maria. In Puerto Rico had another daughter named Judith. Later he "Victor Manual Arroyo left America. America and Felicita (Fifa) both worked in factories to support themselves. During World War II America opened her apartment & heart to family members and friends in need. Including those who were in the armed services. Gloria Maria was put into private schooling in order to receive a better education. After the war, they both went to visit Puerto Rico. Friends and family welcomed them. Two years later, America had problems related her kidneys, she died of Uremia at the Knickerbocker Hospital in Harlem, New York (1950). American never got to see her beloved Puerto Rico again. Gloria Maria (America#2's) daughter had seven children: Barbara Lynn, Richard Victor, Robert Craig, Jon Scott, Candi Maria, Estellita and Denise, and her child was Antonio Miguel. |

Fifa (Felicita) COLLAZO was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. Felicita .. (Fifa) Puerto Rican born Easter Sunday, April 4, 1915 and died in Michigan. She was named after her grandmother. She was tall, brown hair, fair complexion and green eyes. She was called Fifa. Fifa helped in the care of Delia Maria and Ramona (mother) when both contracted Tuberculosis (TB). After their death, she returned to New York. She married and had a son, Mark Anthony. He died 42 days later of double pneumonia. Fifa remarried Ernest Seibecker, and moved to Michigan. Fifa she helped raise many family members in Michigan. Her sister, Carmen Iris and daughter Sandra, Sandra�s two daughters, Lisa, Jennifer. Nydia and Gloria after Delia Maria death. Ernest Jr. (stepson) also came to live with her. She had a talent for fabrication and sewing of her own clothing. She later made dance costumes for shows. As she was so motivated to help others, she was a pillar to the family. She saw no wrong in anyone, only good. She suffered many illnesses, but her obligations and commitments were still met. All who knew her loved her. Of all her brothers and sisters she is the soul survivor. At age 85. Fifa was placed into a Nursing home. Several week later her husband Ernest passed away. Ernest was a wonderful man. (he passed away from a heart attack) Cleo, MI. while Fifa was in the Nursing Home. America's daughter is Gloria Galvan was Living in Michigan. Gloria and her daughter where Fifa's caregivers. |
